About
Abdi Daud
I serve as a Cultural Ambassador for the Association of Somaliland Community in Australia (ascaust.com.au) and write Abdi Daud's Blog as a strategic foreign-affairs platform for Somaliland.
The blog is focused strictly on Somaliland's external position: recognition, state continuity, Red Sea security, regional alignments, diaspora influence, and the choices that shape how Somaliland is understood by governments and institutions.
Haadka means Eagle in Somali, It's my internet nickname.
This blog is not commentary for its own sake. It is written for ministers, advisers, diplomats, journalists, diaspora leaders, and policy readers who need arguments that are clear enough to use and serious enough to test.
Its thought leadership has consistently moved early: anticipating the Somaliland-Ethiopia MoU, Somaliland's constitutional crisis, the strategic case for recognition of Israel, and the logic of a deeper United States partnership before these became mainstream policy conversations.
Based in Melbourne, I bring a diaspora vantage point to Somaliland's diplomatic future: close enough to the national question to understand its stakes, and far enough from daily political noise to keep the strategic picture in view.
